Duchy Show 2005
An early start on an over-cast day with a forecast of rain, typical car show weather! The Mk1 boys decided to head off down to Helston direct from Plymouth, not wishing to waste time by joining up with the convoy from Launceston. Convoy formed at 9am, and left at 9.30. Paul didn’t make the start having been working on his car until the wee small hours, however he said he’d catch up and we knew to rely on him.
11am and the six car convoy turned up at Flambards to be joined an hour and a half later by the Mk1’s who had taken the scenic route! Three more members turned up together with two guests making a total turnout of thirteen cars. This proved to be a lucky number for us when we scooped a number of raffle prizes and two well earned trophies at the end of the show. Simon won a cup for his Mk1 GTXLR, just beating Tony’s own lovely black version and Rob’s hard work on his lovely 3.0ltr Mk3 was also rewarded.
As always the Duchy show was well attended and extremely well organised. There were some wonderful cars to see, and owners not deterred by the weather pulled together to make it an extremely worthwhile day out. Thank you once again to Mark, Steve and all the Duchy boys for pulling together one of the West’s best local events.
