History:
I acquired this car at the end of 2006. I wasn't really looking for a Brookie, but when this one came up, I had to go and have a look. What I found was a 280 that had suffered from neglect and had been used as a daily drive for a long time. The worst areas were strut top strengthening plates which had had a strong but unsightly MOT repair done. The interior was shabby and in desperate need of a good clean.
March 2007 - Lots of hours work have now been done and old girl is now starting to show a hint her former glory. Shes had a full service, a new water-pump, steering rack, front springs, most interior plastic, fed leather, washed carpets, and applied loads of elbow grease. She will probably never be mint, but she is slowly becoming presentable!
Work still to do: Re-build gearbox, re-trim leather, source spare wheel. Skim heads, Replace rockers. Grind off unsightly repair panels to strut tops and rebuild these areas properly. Full bare metal respray. Polybush all round, and rectify faults as they surface.
Modifications: The only modification done is to replace the dial cluster with one from a Mk2, purely because I prefer the rev counter and the speedo was not working properly!
