Owner: Guy Massey
Model: Mk3 2.8i Special
Colour: Mineral Blue
Year: 1985
Engine Size: 2.8 Litre.
History:
Responding to an advertisement in October 2008, I was introduced to this 2.8i that had been stood in a garage for nine years. She had covered only 66k and had a full service history. She had been put away when the owner complained of a lack of power. The garage, who had serviced it twice during the last 3,000 miles diagnosed a possible cylinder head gasket problem. Checking th car over, I was astonished to find that the oil level on the dipstick was over twice as high as the max level (see pic). This could be the cause of all the problems. It may be that, when serviced they forgot to drain the oil and poured 5ltrs on top of the old! Watch this space. Pictures 04 & 05 show her after her first wash in nine years!
Modifications: Compomotive alloys fitted.
The Future: I really want to bring her back to her former glory. Work needed includes; new wings, cills, wheel arches and a tailgate. If at all possible I'd like to source Ford panels, especially for the wings. I would also prefer Brookland Alloys, they at least have the same pattern as the original 13" wheels, and she would look great on the 15" version.
