Crich Tramway Museum 2007This year the weather has been dreadful, so it came as a pleasant surprise when the forecast suggested sunshine for the Crich weekend. Guy motored up on Friday and spent Saturday exploring the area. He was joined by Barrie on Sunday at the museum. Once again there was an excellent turnout of cars. The Capris were joined by a Triumph Stag, obviously a wannabe Capri owner, who had to make do! Barrie brought a friend with him and both spent the day in their element, having restored a locomotive together in the past. There was a huge variety to look at, from racing machines to a highly modified Mk 1. There was a beautiful white Tickford and several 280s. Guy and Barrie shared the Trophy for the furthest travelled, ownership of this coveted award was decided by the toss of a coin, which Barrie won! All too soon the day was over and Barrie left to go for supper with his friends family near Leicester and Guy went on to break camp at Ashbourne. Amazingly they both arrived at the motorway services on the M5 at the same time and convoyed back to the Westcountry. |
